Stu-Trees

Stu3 has sponsored the planting of 20 Heritage Apple Trees in the Dinefwr Heritage Orchard, managed by Dinefwr Orchardeers at the National Trust Dinefwr estate. This community project is a passion of Ian Colledge, Partner. He has his own orchard on the go and has a love of trees in general so this was a match made in heaven.   Here’s what Philip had to say from Dinefwr Orchardeers: “Born out of a group of orchard enthusiasts volunteering at the National Trust Dinefwr orchard, Dinefwr Orchardeers was formally constituted as a not for profit group in 2020. There are now 130 trees in the orchard and the number of different varieties has increased to 100. We plan to expand the orchard to 150 trees in the winter of 2022/23, thanks to your generous donation. Our purpose is to promote and celebrate all aspects of orcharding in and around the Towy valley. We run courses in aspects of orchard management including summer and winter pruning, grafting, orchard establishment and early years care and we work very closely with ‘Applewise’ a local specialist fruit tree nursery. “ A great cause who also encourages local folk to make cider as part of their cider club!
