Calder Grub Hub

The Calder Grub Hub is a DIY not for profit organisation. They are 100% volunteer run and Helen Tipping, Stu3 Consultant, along with the other volunteers, works to help anyone feeling the pinch in this current economic upheaval. The team cook tasty nutritious vegan, nut-free food in a fully accessible central Hebden Bridge venue every Wednesday. Everyone is welcome, no questions asked. Whether people are in need financially, or of companionship, the meals are fully inclusive for all. As well as providing the Wednesday meals, the team decided to cook a Christmas meal for the community. With a donation from Stu3 they were able to provide all the food for the event, and with further donations, including greenery from the volunteers’ gardens, they decorated the space and provided gifts and chocolates for everyone, as well as providing taxis home for those living in more isolated areas. 64 people came for the Christmas meal, and everyone had a good time, with a festive feast, and a quiz and musical entertainment afterwards.
